To help ensure you finish your programme with as many skills as possible, we have also designed a variety of ways for you to gain additional employability skills to help you in the competitive graduate employment market.
Graduate career-ready
At Teesside University, you will be fully prepared for the world of work, with workplace skills directly embedded into your curriculum.
Teesside University is an Adobe Creative Campus, meaning you can spend time developing future-proof digital skills to help you in the workplace – such as creativity, critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, and collaboration.
Discover practical learning experiences
Degrees at the University are developed with internationally renowned companies including Samsung, Procter & Gamble and Virgin Money. You will learn under industry-active lecturers to ensure you are developing the skills most useful to the world of work. Many degree options at Teesside University include access to simulated real-life work environments for you to practise your skills.
There are also opportunities to undertake work placements to support your career and skills development further – as well as give you a better understanding of what career is right for you. The University careers service can help you find internships and work placements, so you can find the right fit for you.
The University itself also offers part-time employment opportunities – the Students’ Union employs hundreds of students each year. As an international student, you can take advantage of this with your Student visa, which allows you to work for up to 20 hours each week.
Teesside University supported 190 student start ups (active firms) including 26 newly registered student start ups during the academic year 2021/22.
Work after study
After graduating, you will have the skills needed to start your international career with opportunities available all over the world. In the UK, you can access the Graduate Immigration Route – a 2-year post-study work visa for international students graduating from UK universities.
